Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 669 W Union Hills Dr, Phoenix, AZ

I went to this Public Storage to pick up a lamp that I had purchased on Nextdoor. Great lamp at a great price!

In May 2022, my family and I relocated from GA to AZ and I rented 7 (10x20) units while building our custom home. We thought we’d have moved out 6 months later but due to delays, our home is still not done as of Oct 2024. More than 2 yrs later with no missed payments, they kept raising my rent and I was paying about $2,200/month as they continue to increase my rent. One of the units was priced at an astonishing $439/month. I pleaded with the Phoenix AZ district manager Ashley to either allow me to prepay or freeze the monthly increases for the 7 units which she refused. Keep in mind I have been renting from this company now for over 2 yrs with no missed payments. In Sep 2024, I received another notice of rent increase and I was upset and decided to call PODS. I ended up using PODS as they were able to get me a fixed rate of $1500/month for as long as I needed the storage which will be for another 6-9 months. Of course, when I gave my notice to vacate to Public Storage, the site attendant offered me a “Rent Reduction” to stay. Laughable because I had asked multiple times even for at least rent rate freeze which Ashley refused. Obviously, I declined. What made me write this review is the way Ashley made it so difficult for me to get my property out after I gave them notice. It was totally uncalled for and unnecessary. Since I had 7 units, it was going to take time to get my things out even with hired movers. Over the next 4 weekends, we tried to remove my things but Ashley insist that I can only bring in 1 POD at a time and MUST be removed with 24 hrs. Keep in mind I had 7 units (10x20) and needed 11 large PODS. She made things extremely difficult which forced me to hire an attorney to protect my rights. I was able to bring in multiple PODS each weekend to meet the timeline of getting my stuff out by month end. The district manager, Ashley does not recognize how to keep a good customer. She definitely needs some serious training on how to handle customers especially ones that rents 7 units and pays over $2,200/month timely. If I were a manager, I will do everything possible to keep that customer. But, that’s just me. I will NEVER use or recommend this company to anyone.

Everything was good until I saw my bank statement. They took out the amount I was to pay. Then 2 days later they took out $350 then another $19.92. I have to go in and try to see what's going on.

Rented online while pulling into the storage, and sadly, the storage was too small. They do not offer one big enough. They kept my 29.00 admin fee. People I would rent somewhere else due to the admin fee alone. Most storage units around them have protection where u get a full refund if something happens and the unit does not work for you. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We moved into a smaller unit today and Ann was so helpful with all aspects-from the locks to the app, to the insurance, to the access at the gate sites. Thanks Ann!

I had trouble entering the gate had to stand in the hot sun and wait and I had to go inside and receive help and still stand in the hot sun while she fixed the problem. The problem was finally resolved and all is well.

I have been a customer for 11 years and my rent has consistently been raised every year. I am now paying over 3 times as much as when I started. I will be looking for another place. After posting this the discounted my rate for 6 months now back to the higher rate again.

I was happy with the service at the beginning but after 4 months they raised their rent +$40 per month. I am moving out asap.

They are never at the front desk. You have to be a psychic to know when they’ll be back. Zero customer service.

Visited Public Storage on Union Hills and 7th Avenue today to look at a storage unit and was so impressed with Ann’s excellent customer service. She explained everything very well and showed us around the property even when we showed up a few minutes before closing time. Ended up renting a unit when we were just visiting to look at what they have available. Thank you Ann for making this a great experience and we don’t need to look any further for a unit.

Experience was top notch made possible by Ann. She goes above and beyond while being knowledgeable and very pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

While the facility and staff are nice they increase the rates regularly. My rates have increased twice for total of approximately 61% over the original rate in the course of a little over a year. If you are comparing rates just know that rate they are offering, which might competitive now, likely will not stay that way. Now you are left with the inconvenience of moving all your belongings to another unit or just paying the increase, which is likely what they are counting on. Or if you have autopay you might not even notice, which they are also probably counting on.

Been a customer for 10 years and all they do is keep raising the rates. They say you have a chance to win on auto pay $1,000 but in ten years I have not won. So good luck everyone with that. I guess after reading this review they decided to help me out and lower my payment. It was really nice of them to do that.

I rented a unit at sixth Avenue and Union Hills and Rosie was wonderful there. I started on the Internet and found what I needed and then finished with Rosie. The only thing that I would say you need to call ahead is to find out if it’s climate control because they have both and the Internet doesn’t tell you whether the one you pick is climate control or not but I will say that Rosie was so helpful and so polite and nice to deal with, you couldn’t ask for a nicer person to work with

On the website, offered a dollar for first month rent, but went through the whole process. MS said there's no dollar on that unit. Basic basin switch total against the law practice.. the only reason why you got a star is cause I have to give you one

Absolutely terrible. Had my unit broken into with half my items stolen . There is no video footage or anyone willing to help ! Basically told “ not our problem “ horrible horrible experience

Horrible company. Had a 60k boat stolen from a location in Phoenix. Never got any information about who took it. They claim the cameras were not working on part of the property. Left dozens of voice mails for the district manger and still 3-months later not a single response back. Police did what they could, but no cooperation from management or the corporate office. Can’t get calls back and half the time the doors are locked and there is some poor excuse why they are not there. Make sure you have insurance as you may need to use it. They take zero responsibility. It was a shocking and horrible experience.

Melissa demonstrates outstanding professionalism, patience and client care. Along with her extremely pleasant smile, her clear and concise explanation of policy/procedure made for a seamless transaction. I am SO GLAD my reservations at three other locations did not work out and I was able to rent at the originally selected location: Melissa's Place. 🤗🙏🤗

Absolutely the worst. The 800 reservation number blatantly lied and when I arrived with the truck full of things moving to storage space not only did I learned the price was different with the representation of a free lock and air conditioning unit was totally false. A telephone Life storage from the parking lot and I was able to get an air conditioning unit $20 per month less expensive in a much cleaner and nicer facility.

Can in to find a storage for my belongings. Melissa and Robert did a amazing job helping me find a storage in a decent amount of time .Very positive people . Not that it matter but they also have a very funny sense of humor .

What a joy to have met Isaac Varela! From the moment you meet Isaac, you can tell that he cares about his customers and his job. Which he loves I was told. Be has some if the best customer service that we have received in quite a long time. You just don't hear, see, ir receive it anymore. It used to be the first thing that people would speak to each other about. If anone could give this young man a phone call and tell him "job well done" and you made a customer very happy with her service! Thank you and sorry for the length of my post just thought it should be known that there are young men out there that are polite and helpful.

i just needed to share how Nicole did a great job at serving me customer service for my father who has a storage unit there. i go to the one on cave creek , and i had to go down to 7th ave because no one is ever in the office. She helped me every possible way she could. she went out of her way to make sure we were happy! Thank you Nicole!

She went out of her way to provide the highest level of customer service imaginable. In a day and age when quality customer service is rare, Susan exemplifies what true customer service, by definition, is meant to be. Keep up the good work Susan.
