tl;dr You WILL be put on an upward-ratcheting price plan, they might cut your lock and say "woopsie," and when you've had enough, good luck canceling.
In November, they cut the lock off my unit "on accident." So I got to deal with that. In January, my rent was $150. Already double my initial rate. In February, it went to $180. In August, they want it to be $221. Nope. I've hit my breaking point on the predatory price curve. Real cute that they jump it by that much in the summer, when they think people won't go clear out their unit. I'm not the sucker who is going to subsidize the "Just $1 for the first month!" scam, and have my loyalty as a customer rewarded with endless rate hikes. So I'm canceling. Easy, right? No.
I had the unit cleared and swept by around 2:30 today. Went to the office to cancel. Nobody home. Okay, I'll just call. Nobody answering. Okay, I'll just wait in the car. Half hour later, no movement. Try the door again, locked. Try the phone again, nobody. Okay...I'll go home and try it online. After trying all 4 numbers on the website, all of which lead to the same place, and all of which transfer me to the office with nobody in it, I try the live chat. It's a useless click-tree. Great. I try typing "agent" as a shot in the dark, and lo and behold, my first contact with an actual human in the course of this debacle. He throws copy/pastes at me, the last of which says he can get me a callback in 3 days. Unacceptable. I talk to another one who says "I'll see what I can do. Vacate receipts are received by email," and closes the chat on me.
I wait for an email. No email. So I try the live chat again. It tells me that the super helpful Live Chat hours ended at 6pm Pacific time. This was at 4:41pm Pacific time. Throughout this, I keep trying the office on the phone, about every 15 minutes until the end of office hours. Never an answer. I went back over there at one point. Still nobody home. Why do you have office hours on the window? It should say, "If we get around to it." Heard of cordless phones? They've been around since the 80s, fantastic technology.
I will never do business with this company again. Unprofessional, irresponsible, absentee garbage.
Mike and Jessica did a really good job. They showed me a unit before my reservation date to make sure it was what I wanted. They also made sure all my questions were answered before moving in.

Mike M. was such a huge help. He has gone above and beyond our expectations several times. He's so friendly,courteous and responsive and does his very best to accommodate customers' needs and address and solve any problems!! Jessica the manager is extremely helpful with anything you need help with and the storage facility is always clean and safe. Prices for storage are some of the best I could find anywhere. The clean public restrooms are a bonus too.
When you call this number for the office, you get the corporate office in the Phillipines. This storage also isn't truthful about what they actually charge. A 10 x 10 shows $183. We are being charged $207/month.

Rosa Linda and Peggy provided excellent service. It was a pleasure doing business with them. Only thing that is a gimmick is that the company has a policy that you have to spend 20 bucks and buy their approved lock which isnt the employees' fault but just thought I would mention is a poor practice by the corporation. As per service is concerned it was great!!!

I chose Public Storage because they had the best deal for new customers when I was searching for a climate controlled unit. The staff has always been friendly with me. The facility is gated, and you can unlock the gate w/ the app on your phone. I've had a few troubles w/ the gate, but the staff was helpful, and they called me to notify me if I made a mistake at the gate when entering or exiting, so I like that they pay attention to that. It makes me feel like my belongings are more secure. The climate controlled storage is actually indoor. The entire sign up process was done online. They also have autopay set up.

Stored a boat here for about 2.5 years. The staff did an amazing job. They were always accommodating and went out of their way to call and tell the cover blew off in a wind storm or if anything else had happened. I would use this particular facility again

Today as I was exiting the property from bringing a friend of mine that stores there I noticed a young lady outside cleaning the doors. I don’t know if she was a mother or not; But I wished her a Happy Mother’s Day! She told me her name was Rachael and asked me was everything with my unit was good and did I need any help! She also ask me was everything fine; and if I can go on google and rate the facility. For her to be out in the heat cleaning the doors to make sure the facility stays clean. I definitely thought that was worth five stars. We need more people like her she rocks!!!!

I'm at Jessica who is a wonderful manager over at Public Storage on Alma School just north of Guadalupe on the west side of the road she got me up by 10 storage I was just moving out of a studio apartment and I had nowhere to put my stuff it seemed to be the right price my mom help me out she's been fantastic through the whole experience she even drives in Orange Little golf cart she's checking up on me right now saying hey what's going on and I'm waiting on my brother to pick me up but in other words these people care so I'm giving them five stars and I think you should give Jessica also five stars that means your district manager Ashley should be looking at you when I'm saying I'm giving you five stars because you must be doing something right thank you so Jessica. Hold on Mom.
Jessica was the person that helped me. I came in this past Monday to take a look at the unit just so I can get an idea of what size I needed. On that day, the transmission went out on my car, so I could not get the unit right away. She showed me the unit still and the property is well taken care of. The units were clean and swept out. The inside, climate control units hallways are also clean. That is a huge deal for me. The office crew are really nice and helpful. I like that this storage is well secured. I’m very much pleased and happy with the overall service. Thank you again Jessica for all your help.

On 7.30.22, while moving out of one of our units, we found water damage to 3 rugs. A phone call to the manager has not been returned 3 days later. On 7.31.22, office staff told us that such damage was an "act of God." I disagree; it was normal rainfall combined with damaged seals on the unit doors. When combined with rate increases of over 30% after 5 months (20x20 unit was going to increase from $449 to $595!), my rating has dropped significantly.
Our move to Arizona has included a climate-controlled unit, the addition of another unit on the day we began moving in, and the shift from that unit to a larger one during the second trip weeks later. Jessica has been professional and very helpful, with attention to numerous details. When she was not available, she coordinated so that Dave from a nearby Public Storage site drove over to assist us, and he was great as well. At one point, a lock was installed incorrectly, and we were notified, which was reassuring. A very complicated, drawn-out move has been greatly improved by Jessica and Dave. Thank you.
