I moved into the space in 2018. My 5x5 2nd floor space started at $17/month. It climbed slowly and by 2022 I was paying $33/month. It jumped to $47 in 2023. Then, a couple months ago, it skyrocketed to $63/month.
And the current advertised rate for the same space is...$12/month on special ($24/month regular). I have not been able to get in touch with property management. Left two messages over the last week without any response.
The space is clean and easy to access, but if you go there, be very prepared for your rates to go up exponentially over time. I'm guessing this is a standard practice, but it's super annoying.
We got a unit online and when we came in we had some questions, Debra was able to get all sorted out quickly. So far a great experience!

Facility is clean and well maintained. As is the case with all storage units, rental rates increase 15-40% every 4-6 months.

The storage unit is neat and clean, but beware - you will be charged for full month’s rent if you move out on 1st or 2nd day of the month. It was my bad to assume I will be charged pro-rated rent like other places. I moved out on 4th, had to pay the full month’s rent.

I am super happy with my storage unit here at Public Storage. I have been here since 2021. The ratos are in line with market but they have outstanding customer service. I'd like to give Dawn a shoutout as she has most recently helped me tremendously at the office in regards to my unit. The property is clean, safe guarded and easy access with convenient hours of entry.

When we get our stuff out of here they made sure to ask for a five star review but let me say this you definitely don’t get five star service. I went up the road and talked to someone at extra space storage and the manager asked if any one is in the office, no. No one is ever there to address any needs, when someone is there they are putting unnecessary locks on people storage units because obviously some one can get past their two gates you have to put a pin in and get to your units.
Every time we been here the bathroom is out of service or locked. I’m paying all this money for the restroom to be out of service for the 4 months I been using this place. I will not give public’s storage a five star review ever, greedy corporate people.
If your in need of a storage unit go with extra space or someone else, someone who actually cares about people and not greed.
8/2023 Move in.
I just want to say my experience so far with Public Storage has been great. I had to vacate my last storage facility do to shady dealings. When say shady I mean doubling monthly fees and I wasn’t there not even 4 months. I called Public Storage and was not happy with the person I spoke to. I started to ask her questions and she got snippy with me because she didn’t know the answers. I’m ok with that, but don’t get an attitude. I told my wife I will have to stop in at 3828 NC 55 location for myself. Well I did and I did it twice. Dawn, location manager, was great. She answered all my questions and took me on the tour of available units. She resolved all my concerns and made my entry into Public Storage a pleasure.

I had an issue with the locks to my unit but Dawn was very polite and accommodating. I’ve had other issues before but she was the only who seemed to care enough to make sure my problems were resolved.

It would be super helpful if the information that is provided on the website, and in the reservation details reflected the updates process which is evidently completely virtual now. Additionally, gate does not seem to be accessible until 7AM (as opposed to 6AM as stated). The location I booked had incorrect office hours and information at the time of my reservation, my access code did not work all weekend, and the elevator in the front of the property is out of order.
Thankfully, I was able to alleviate some of the stress by listening to my debut Studio -EP, Lifter of My Head which is available for streaming on all platforms. If the stress of life's transitions are getting to you, take some time to rest your mind with this collection of gentle, acoustic melodies.
I was finally able to access my storage unit on a Monday morning at 7AM, which is a bit less convenient that a Saturday or even Sunday afternoon.
My girlfriend and I rented a unit online. We received an email saying we were ready to go, and with the codes we needed. The code would not work to get into the building or through the gate. Once we spent 15 minutes (which is a long time after packing and loading a trailer all day), we were able to get a temporary code that worked. When we got into the building, we realize there were no carts. We decided to not use this unit due to all the difficulties and a high likelihood of future problems. We have tried calling and going by the building to speak to someone about getting a refund. No one is ever there, and no one has returned my calls. I guess I’ll just have to write off that money as wasted. I believe I’ll steer clear of this company if I need a storage unit in the future.
We have tried a few times now to get a storage space here. We would have an appointment set up and the store manager never would show up. Other times my husband would try to drive to the storage unit during the day to see if maybe he could talk to someone in person no one was ever there. Poor service and a waste of our time.

Dannie was a pleasure. I was confused on the whole process with this being my first time but she walked me through everything when I had trouble finding my unit. I had a safety concern and she assured me that my belongings were safe and secured.

This is best storage facility I have ever used. It's clean, secure but with easy access and the staff is excellent. I would definitely use the Public Storage at 3828 NC 55 in Cary again.
At first I chose to move into a 5x5 storage unit but soon noticed the unit was to small for everything I had. I was able to come into the the front office and spoke with Sarah who was able to quickly and very nicely upgrade me to the 5x10 unit but that unit was also to small and when I told Miss Sarah at the front desk she just smiled and told me another had opened and transferred me with no issue! Customer service is top notch here and because of Sarah whenever I need storage space I am always going to return here!!

I helped a friend retrieve her belongings from the facility. I was very impressed with how clean it was. In order to enter the storage area there was an individualized code.
I walked into this business and instantly felt that I was about to have a great experience. Sarah was working and in a few minutes she and I had a storage unit picked out and the packing items I would need identified. She walked me thru the application process and explained in detail the hours of the office and times allowed for movement in and out of items. Thanks to her knowlege and her sparkling personality my entire move in experience was the best. On move in day she had Crystal prepared for my arrival and in a very short timeframe all paperwork was completed, keys issued and instructions for downloading a very helpful app were given. The move in process was very pleasurable in large part due to those 2 fine individuals. Thanks girls and thanks Public Storage.
Let me start by saying that in todays world it’s almost difficult to find Pure & Genuine people that will really have your back and understand that sometimes times are a little tough and life happens to us all. Sarah the store manager is absolutely fantastic and has been a tremendous blessing to me and my family as we’ve are transitioning from one home to the next! There’s not a day that I’ve worried about my storage or my personal belongings. I’ve been near loosing it and Sarah I swear God is going to bless you mightily for how accommodating you’ve been!
