I recently used Public Storage East Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, TX to get out of a pinch. We were moving our daughter to Dallas from College Station and ran into a snag with her apartment and had to wait another week to move in. Stephen Ransom was the person I dealt with onsite and he really helped me out in a quick way and saved me money in the process. The area was safe, clean, and easy to use in a convenient location to where we were moving. My daughter was able to access the unit throughout the week waiting on her apartment to open up. All in all, it was a great experience and I would recommend this location and Stephen to anyone that is looking for short term or long term storage rental solutions. Thanks a ton for your help in a stressful, time crunched situation.

They knowingly rent to homeless people here and act like you’re the problem when you report it. The “managers” at the front desk claim it’s Public Storage’s policy to rent to homeless as long “as they don’t loiter or sleep there.” However, the staff don’t watch the cameras or judiciously walk the property to ensure it’s safe. They want high vacancy and do not care or vet who they rent to. This is directly across from a DART station- we observed the homeless person access the property with codes to the gate and building to store his groceries and gallon jugs of water and then walk back to train station. My rent just doubled in one month for a unit I don’t even feel safe going to. Do not rent here. And if this really is Public Storage’s company policy, don’t rent at any of their locations.

Hopefully this review is posted, it keeps getting deleted. All of my things were stolen within 30 days of storing my them here. The staff have not done anything about it. They promised to take action. None of which have been done to date. They were either involved or simply don't care.

I rented a unit here 2 days ago and, other than the first day, have not been able to access the building since. The "security" system says "system offline" and no one can get in. I've tried calling the office multiple times but no one answers. I've gone down there several times during the day and the office is empty. I've called the corporate office and they just say they are sending an email to the manager. This is the worst customer service I've ever seen. DO NOT RENT HERE.

The managers did an awesome job. They made sure everything was explained perfectly. They really know how to make you feel comfortable, and welcomed Especially Ms.Tamiyka and Stephen. I Appreciate you guys

Tamiyka and Stephen were incredible and very helpful with getting us set up!! They were honest about the nuances that come with renting a unit and all of our questions! We had a great experience, especially after experiencing difficulties with another storage place in this city! They were accommodating and amazing!

If you would like an honest review of this place here it is. They are clearly asking for 5 star reviews or giving away promos for doing so. The staff was really nice and friendly, but overall the upkeep and maintenance of this location is horrendous. Myself and dozens of others had our units broken into and our stuff stolen out of them due to lack care here. The large building only has 1 elevator, so if anyone else is there at all, get ready to wait for long periods of time while moving things in and out. They offer Dolly's which are almost always nowhere to be found, unless you are in office hours where they keep a couple. The new lock system is pretty terrible. 8 digit codes and the app never works properly. Half the times the elevator won't go to the floor you picked because it took to long to go to the floor you are on so you have to input your code again. Last but not least, the rate they give you is a lie, my price increased almost 100% over a year. When I called to possibly switch to a smaller unit they quoted me $100 a month less for the one I was currently in than what they are changing me now. Last but not least make sure to get your stuff out before the month starts. You get charged a full month even if you have move all of your stuff out 2 days into the month.

Do not store your stuff here if you're planning on more than 6 months. My monthly has gone up 6 times in almost 4 years. (Wasn't planning on it being that long, but here we are.) Starting next month, my rent will be QUADRUPLE the original price. And I've never paid late or failed to pay.

I just moved to Dallas from Florida and I came into this Public Storage to inquire about renting a space. A lady named Tamika helped me by showing me a space and explaining the the prices. Unfortunately, there is no promotion on the space size that I need. I am going to shop around but I may choose to store here because Tamika was awesome and that is important also.

Although I feel Public Storage is kind of over priced, Stephan in the office was great! He tried his best to get me into a space that fit my budget but the ones that did were just too small. Give this man a raise because he tried to help me, and he had great customer service

I came in to inquire about renting a unit yesterday and Tameka was so helpful! She answered all of my questions. I was worried about safety and she was able to help me by explaining that they do regular checks on their units to make sure they are safe.

The public storage on Mockingbird was good the staff on hand is exceptional one lady I believe her name was Tamiyka was great. She helped me find my unit and if I needed any more help, she was there as well.

My unit was broken in to twice, all they did was change my access code. Wouldn’t let me speak to a manager to get a new lock, i was going to have to pay. No person on site for help. Moving out!

I came in to pay my storage that was about to be auctioned, my space is in Rowlett but I was closer to this one on Mockingbird so I came into pay. The ladies in the office Angela and Tameka were so helpful and patient with me. I was really worried about my stuff being auctioned but they explained the process and kind of calmed my anxiety. I was able to get it paid and still have my things. Very good customer service from them both, thank you

Just moved my things here and so far so good! I made a reservation at another location but they had me waiting 20 plus minutes just to tell me the unit I wants requires a ladder. I came here and I’m glad I did. Very nice people and nice area. A few hiccups but I feel like my belongings are safe here. Jada is super nice.

My Unit was broken into 4 times in a 5 year period of time. Public Storage never changed their security system or lighting during this period (they still haven't). The side entrance has been repeatedly broken-into with a simple screwdriven prying the mechanism. You can see all the paint scratches on the door frame and lock. No cameras cover the door or lighting, so it invites further attacks. On one night, more than 28 Units were robbed. The door plates are cut off using a portable grinder saw - cuts them off like buttar. The locks just fall-off! (They cut the retainer plate and not the lock.) Public Storage replaces the retainer plate, slaps on one of their locks, and does not inform you of the break-in/theft because they do not want any evidence of the cutting/damage to be used for claims on the insurance policy they sell. Public Storage historically pays out 15% against premiums. It is a huge profit component of their business. In Florida, Class Action suits are in process to address this eggregious practice. Texas needs similar consumer advocacy. I sent letters to Public Storage execs to no avail. The people working at the Mockingbird location are trained to protect Public Storage profits - NOT your Unit! Don't be a fool and waste money buying their insurance as it will do nothing for you. Buy a policy off your home owner or renter's insurance. Also, EasyStorage in Dallas everywhere has better lighting, better cameras, and cleaner facilities. The Mockingbird PS location is a burglar's field day. Contact Dallas Police Dept staff (Highland Park too) for perspectives on how frequently Units at this location are robbed.

Nothing against the manager, she’s nice but don’t leave anything valuable there’s daily break ins. My unit was broken into and the very next morning another 4. So just don’t leave anything valuable there.

The staff that works here is great! They are nice and helpful. However, I got this storage unit last summer, it was $119 a month. It’s on auto pay, but I looked at my credit card bill and after 8 months, Public Storage charged me $159! I called and they said they had an increase. What?!? No email, no warning, it’s ridiculous. I understand an increase, but that’s almost 30%!!! I’m looking for a new storage place….

Came in today to look at some units and get prices and Hannah was very helpful. Definitely recommend this place.
