Great customer service
I’ve been renting a unit at Public Storage for about a year and a half now, and overall, I’d say it’s been a good experience. My belongings have been kept safe, and while the rent has increased a bit, it’s still been a decent arrangement. However, I did have a disappointing experience with the property manager recently. This morning, as I was trying to access my unit, the front gate wouldn’t open, and I had to download the app to get in. While I was waiting for it to load, the property manager was leaving and saw me near the gate. Instead of offering assistance or asking if I needed help, she was immediately defensive, accusing me of trying to ‘tailgate’ her entry. She firmly told me to get my own code and head to the office, which felt accusatory and rude. I understand the importance of enforcing security, but a little kindness would have gone a long way. A simple offer to help would have been appreciated, especially since I was doing my best to follow the rules. It’s unfortunate, as interactions like these really shape the experience. That said, the facility itself has served me well overall, but I will definitely be gathering up my belongings and moving out by the end of the year.
I recently had a fantastic experience with Public Storage, thanks to Pam from both Pickerington location and Yasi from the Kenny Rd location. Immediately following my attempts to make a reservation online I received a call from Pam to gather more information. At that time Pam was helpful in provided all the information I needed upfront and alerted me that my plan to have our belongings dropped off via a moving truck wouldn’t work, giving me time to adjust. In the meantime, while juggling too many tasks post-move, I accidentally booked a unit farther away than I intended. I went to the Kenny Rd location to fix this issue where I was greeted by Yasi. Yasi went above and beyond to help me understand and fix the issue. Even though she couldn’t resolve everything on her end, she made sure I knew exactly what to do next. Pam followed up afterward, working with me to clear up the residual confusion I had caused and patiently worked with me to get my plans back on track.
I feel both Pam and Yasi could sense my stress (moving to another state is SO stressful), but they approached my concerns with professionalism, kindness, and understanding, and for that, I’m beyond grateful. I highly recommend Public Storage for their excellent customer service and the teamwork of both Pam and Yasi in helping this new Ohioan experience the friendliness and hospitality of the Midwest.

My unit was broken into, my lock cut off and replaced by some random person's lock. Nobody in the office at 3 p.m. on a Sunday, note on the door saying they wouldn't return until Monday. Repeated calls to the property manager with no response. Apparently nobody should assume their items are safe and secure with public storage
Rented 2 units. With 3 weeks my big unit was targeted not a random pick. It was the only one broken into. The value of missing items was 4 times what insurance covers. Camera just happened to not be working at that time. Was given minimal to no assistance or righting the situation. Was broken into 2 times back to back with 24 hours. Like I was being watched. Place looks nice but is set up for the perfect theft opportunity. Will never again use them.
Public Storage is a great place to go! The customer service that I received from the 2 ladies that were working was amazing. They easily pulled up my registration. Explained everything in detail. Highly recommended!
Better check your vehicles. Catalytic Convertor was stolen. Never going to store anything here agian.
They made me pay the rest of the month even though I wanted to be out before the 5th of the month, also there were MULTIPLE boxes and items missing out of my unit. make sure you know EVERY item in your unit because they will say they were never inside it.

On 5/31/2024 was set to be my last day with public storage. I had a situation that came about on that day. However, Valarie who was working in the office was so helper and patient with me in handling that situation. Not only was she patient but help me bring it to a resolve. Not only on this day, but any other day I needed customer service, she conducted herself professionally, efficiently and effectively. Thank u Valarie and I wish u many blessings and success!!

I wish this was a 24-hour facility where we would be able to come and go as needed throughout the night, if necessary, without breaking rules. The policy apparently doesn't permit this, although it would certainly be very convenient.
Otherwise, the grounds are safe and clean. This location is away from riff-raff, unlike many of the other facilities around Columbus. We don't need to worry about the safety of our property here.
It’s been some time but I wanted to leave a review for simply storage before being turned into public storage. I had done an online rental during covid. It was a weekend and it said contact free. I didn’t realize I wouldn’t have a way into the facility so I called and told them I had to go somewhere else because I had the movers following me to the storage. Long story short, I contacted the facilty itself and the manager told me I wasn’t entitled to a refund because I did the move in plus admin fees Actually I didn’t do the move in, in fact I couldn’t get into the property at all. They didn’t even have the admin part of it because I never saw them in person and it told them to cancel it as we were in route there once they told me no one would be there to let me in. They told me I needed someone at the facility to gain access. I contacted the district manager and he told me he would send me a refund, waited months with nothing. Called again he said he would send another out. I never received anything and he never returned my calls. This was $60.00 I threw away to them plus I had to pay the movers almost an hour longer to find somewhere else last minute and pay more money.
The communication was not good overall, the manager at the office tried to say I had moved in, but they didn’t even give me a gate code to get in!
I don’t recommend this place!

Current Manager is amazing but this place used to be more amazing but over the years it's just gone to greed, besides replacing lights they just seem to want to fattin up there wallets, price raise after price raise,back in the day it was 24 hours in and out, along time ago a 10x10 was in the 60s,now in the past few years gone from 80s now up to 138, inflation is the excuse, I could see if our unit was climate controlled but it isn't

The unit itself is great. Climate controlled so I paid a little more for it. What I didn't know was that within 1 and 1/2 years I would be paying double, if someone came in off the street. My rent became so high that I'm now forced to put it in my son's garage. $312 for a 10×15 climate controlled. WOW!!!! My initial payment was around $100 and some. Storage units need to have a law that doesn't allow them to raise your rent while in a contract. I'm not sure who mandates them but someone needs to ASAP!!!!

Multiple interior units, including mine, broken into.
Management informed me of a break in while I was out of town.
At first glance all appeared untouched, until I realized Items were stolen, no mess made, looks like thieves took their time as they went down the hall breaking into lockers
Called and spoke with assistant manager, he was belligerent and rude, told me I would have to bring the police.
And YES, there are cameras!
Also front gate stood wide open 1-2 months without being repaired.

My camper was stolen from storage facility Nov 2022. They knew trailers were stolen from the site around that time but made no effort to contact their customers. I went to check on camper Jan 14 2023 when I found out it was missing. Got to site to find main gate broken and open so anyone could get in with no security whatsoever. The managers of this site care nothing about security or their customers

Pay for gated controlled entrance and had caт converter stolen! No coverage for anything, Why bother with a gate? The staff is professional and facility is kept clean, Location is easy to find and close to the highway. Nice to be close to a Loves truck stop if you store an RV for service and fuel!

I need a space for my new RV, and they're really close to my house. The online move in was super easy. When I got there, Corey was really friendly, walked me through the process, and even moved my spot to one that was better for me to make it easier for me to move my rig in and out. The facility is clean, and he was a top notch guy. I couldn't have asked for better customer service!

They will raise their price almost 50.00 on you. They sent postcards saying price would go up 11.00 but it was 50.00 cooperate won't call you back and the reason I got from the facility was They didn't have many units available and that is what they do raise the price to current customers to get them to move out to make more available. I would go someplace else to get your storage

The managers and the staff at Simply Self Storage on Fisher Road in Columbus (Hilliard area) have been very kind and very helpful throughout the process. In mid-January 2021, I called on a Sunday morning with a last-minute request to move my belongings into a 10' x 10' storage unit. Within 10 minutes, I had reserved a unit. And I moved my stuff into the storage unit later that same day.
My storage unit is very clean and well-lit, with highly visible security cameras throughout the property. The property and parking lot itself are well-lit -- and feel very safe and secure.
The location of the Simply Self Storage property on Fisher Road is ideal -- minimal street traffic and quick, easy access from I-70 between the Hilliard-Rome Road and Wilson Road exits.
As for price, I don't think you can do any better than Simply Self Storage. I looked at several other storage facilities along Hilliard-Rome Road and other locations in the same area. By far, the best monthly rental cost I found for a 10' x 10' storage unit was Simply Self Storage. The company website is great, too. The three-dimensional graphics which give you a practical idea of how much stuff you can fit into your storage unit are very helpful. And the pricing options are very simple and straightforward.
Thanks to everyone at Simply Self Storage -- Lisa, Christa, and Lex -- for making the process of quickly finding a storage unit and moving in my belongings a very easy, stress-free process. I scheduled and then completed an online setup of small storage unit, process was easy to do. Called Eric at Simply Safe Storage location who was most helpful with information on location, gate access and other information about using the storage unit. Fyi...this location has been target for catalytic converter thefts...had mine stolen last week of February 2022
Our catalytic converter on our RV was stolen as well as the RV next to ours and all the office said was they would review the cameras! So much for paying for a secured storage!
